Sun Spot Removal

Sun spots and age spots are created from high concentrations of melanin in the skin. Most occur because of overexposure to the sun’s damaging rays. Laser light targets the melanin-containing skin cells and causes them to degenerate. The dead cells will naturally fall off in a few days.

How Does Sun Spot Removal Work?

Unlike other treatments that remove an outer layer of skin and require significant healing time, laser therapy works by gently penetrating an irregularity in the skin, such as an enlarged sun spot or age spot, with a beam of light. This removes the spot without scarring, while stimulating collagen production to tighten the surrounding tissue.

How Many Treatments Are Required?

The number of required treatments depends on such factors as lesion depth and size. Most people need five to six treatments, but begin to see results after only one or two sessions. Sessions are generally scheduled four to six weeks apart. Ask us about discounted packages for multiple treatments.
